Draft notes for version 0.32.0: the Android and iPhone apps, eight more languages, the Weekly Seeded Sprint, friends and alliances, safer saves, days off that cost you nothing, Relaxed timing and a big accessibility pass, and fairer shop and leaderboards.

New

  • Android and iPhone apps, with Google sign-in for cloud saves and optional reminders.
  • The Weekly Seeded Sprint: everyone grows the same fresh colony from the week's seed over 48 hours. Nothing bought counts. Places earn badges, a title and card frames.
  • Friends and alliances: add friends by code, visit their colonies, send a gift a day, and join an alliance of up to 10 with a weekly goal. No chat and no typed messages.
  • A main menu that lists everything in the game, where it lives and what opens it.
  • Building sheets: tap any building to see its levels, upgrade it, change its workers and put a named ant in charge.
  • An Events sheet with the event on now, when the next one starts and the whole yearly calendar.
  • Quick side quests in every age, and 54 new research techs. Research points arrive sooner.
  • Codex field guides for all 69 real ants and 39 other real creatures, with sources.
  • Send feedback from the main menu or Settings, vote in feature polls, and get help in Settings without an email address.
  • This news site, and a full game wiki at wiki.fractalax.games in every game language.
  • Supporter packs in three sizes: every size removes ads and gives the gold Supporter frame. Night Shift and cosmetic bundles in the shop. Nothing in the shop is random.
  • Resource bubbles over your buildings and the queen's jelly drop on the nest.
  • Natural terrain with rounded patches and curved, inked edges.
  • A take-a-break reminder if you'd like one (Settings → Display, off unless you turn it on): after an hour of play in a row, a small note suggests a stretch. Nothing is lost or gained either way.
  • An Updates section on the wiki with a page for every version, linked to these patch notes.

Improved

  • Taking days off costs you nothing: a day or two off pauses your Codex quiz and login streaks instead of breaking them, and missed daily gifts wait for you (up to 6 days).
  • Daily chests save up 6 extra days (was 1), the queen's jar holds 7 days (was 3), and daily and weekly quests you finished but didn't claim are paid at the turnover.
  • Unused weekly boss attacks carry over to later days of the boss week, the weekly "Log in on 5 days" quest is now "Visit the colony on 3 days", and reminders are worded more kindly.
  • Ages are paced so the Great Leap arrives at about day 14.
  • The Nuptial Flight opens with the Atomic Age, so you can settle into your first run first.
  • Nest Siege explains itself, shows each stage's invaders, and its late-game wall is gentler.
  • The worker split uses − and + buttons with presets, so it no longer grabs the page when you scroll.
  • On phones, the colony scrolls away above a tab's list and comes back at the top, with no jumps.
  • Picking a music track switches to it straight away.
  • The Twig Yard is called by one name everywhere, scouts have a new walk cycle, and each of the beetle trader's deals has its own name.
  • 57 more Codex field-guide facts (sizes, colonies, queens and lifespans), each with a source.
  • The wiki: search your language, your language and English, or every language; numbers written each language's way; and a "Tell us" link on every Codex page.
  • The game starts with less to download, and the Codex loads when you first open it.
  • Lots of small layout fixes on phones: nothing scrolls sideways and cards wrap.

Fixed

  • Saves are much harder to lose: a rolling checkpoint as well as a backup, damaged saves kept instead of overwritten, and a way to recover them in Settings.
  • The game saves the moment you switch away or close it, and every 10 seconds while you play.
  • Two open tabs no longer overwrite each other's progress.
  • Signing in on a new device no longer replaces your cloud save with a new colony: if they differ, you choose.
  • Moving your device's clock back no longer freezes the colony, and changing it can't pay anything twice.
  • Codex fact-check fixes: 26 lines and quiz questions corrected, 15 ants' field guides rechecked, and seven creature entries put right (water bears, drone bees, Zodarion spiders, mosquito larvae, ant crickets, echidnas and Microdon hoverflies).
  • Castes no longer show as locked in the main menu, Coming next no longer shows an empty box, and Nest Siege no longer says "1 lives".

Fairness & privacy

  • Leaderboards ignore anything bought: they use Ranked Siege (everyone's soldiers at the same strength) and the daily Codex streak. Alliance deeds leave out plays bought in the shop.
  • Ads only ever play when you tap to watch one.
  • Spending limits: we ask your year of birth once, at your first purchase. Under 18s get a low monthly limit and adults a higher one. Your year of birth stays on your device.
  • No FOMO: every event comes back every year, the starter pack is no longer limited to your first week, and legendary story events can come round again.
  • Supporter packs no longer give Royal Jelly or a production bonus. If you bought the old pack, you keep what it gave you.
  • A plain-words Our promises page, an up-to-date privacy policy, and Delete my online data in Settings.
  • Less data in the apps: no advertising ID on Android, Firebase Analytics off, and fewer server logs.
  • Reminders stay off unless you turn them on, and never come at night.
  • Recent messages and the take-a-break setting stay on your device: never in your save, a transfer code, a cloud save or anything sent to us.

Accessibility

  • Dialogs work from the keyboard: they take focus, keep Tab inside, close with Escape and hand focus back.
  • A clear focus ring, a skip link, better contrast and bigger tap targets on the map.
  • New in Settings: Largest text, stronger high contrast, Reduce motion, colour-blind colours with patterns, and a screen-reader mode with a written colony summary.
  • Relaxed timing (Settings → Accessibility): Fishing's marker sweeps three times slower, tap critters wait for you and a Collect button taps them all, timed events last four times as long, and Nest Siege gets slower speeds and a Step button. Rewards and competitive scores stay the same.
  • Recent messages in the main menu: read again the last 50 messages that popped up and went, with the time each arrived.
  • Age ups, building levels, purchases and slider events are announced to screen readers.
  • 38 screens checked at phone and desktop sizes: 793 automated problems down to none.

Languages

  • The game in eight more languages: German, Spanish, French, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese and Simplified Chinese, with a language picker.
  • Numbers written in text use each language's own separators.
  • Hundreds of translation fixes from full reviews of the Codex and event lines in all eight languages.
  • Colony event lines read naturally in every language, with proper plurals, articles and joined words, and translated building names.
  • Save recovery and cloud-conflict messages are translated, so no game text is left in English.
  • Card families, combat roles, live-event text and critter names are now translated.
  • The wiki writes numbers and dates the way each language does.
